STORAGE / 3 min read

Plan your storage before the container arrives.

A container storage requirement involves more than choosing a unit. Thinking through the site, access and day-to-day use helps your team explain what is needed and prepare for the agreed arrangement.

Make an inventory of the requirement

List the items you expect to store and how often they will be accessed. Note any application-specific storage conditions your own team requires. This gives you a clearer starting point when discussing container type, quantity and condition.

Agree where it will be used

Identify the intended location and confirm the necessary site permissions with the responsible party. Share relevant site information with the supplier and logistics team. Suitable placement and delivery arrangements should be assessed for the actual location.

Think about everyday access

Consider who will access the container and how items will be brought in and out. Discuss any access limitations or operating hours that affect the plan. Your site team should determine the appropriate arrangements for its people, contents and working environment.

Plan for changes and collection

For a temporary requirement, consider the expected end date and what happens if the project changes. Ask about extension and collection arrangements before committing. Monark can discuss the container requirement once you have outlined your location, timeframe and intended use.
